Katrina Kennedy
Chief Learning Officer
Katrina Kennedy brings a bold, evidence-based approach to learning design that challenges the status quo—and gets results. After working with more than 46,000 learners, she’s seen firsthand that most training is built to be delivered, not remembered. Her work is focused on changing that.
As Chief Learning Officer, Katrina partners with organizations to design learning experiences that stick. She works closely with trainers, facilitators, and L&D teams who are ready to move beyond checking the “training complete” box and instead create meaningful shifts in how people think, work, and lead.
Katrina’s approach blends research and real-world application. Drawing on methods like retrieval practice, reflection, and interactive design, she translates learning science into practical, usable tools that drive lasting impact. Her work is grounded, actionable, and always tailored to the unique needs of each organization.
She is the author of Learning That Lasts (ATD Press), a hands-on guide for trainers and instructional designers, and a sought-after speaker at conferences including ATD International, Training Magazine, IDTX, and Online Edu Berlin. Katrina also fosters connection and growth within the learning community through initiatives like Let’s Learn Together and the L&D Book Group.
Her experience spans state agencies, universities, healthcare systems, and Fortune 500 companies. Known for her warmth, rigor, and deep respect for the craft of learning, Katrina helps organizations build capability that endures.
Outside of work, Katrina enjoys spending time with her family, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying different museums, landmarks, and coffee shops in her city.
